Need help...
Students have too much information about writing
They don't do it enough
They want to pretend they are great
They can be great
Can't start the writing process from scratch--they know too much
Suggestions?

Whoo hoo I am blogging!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Eleanor Roosevelt is on this blog!!! that's how you know this is a big deal...
Students simply need to harness their inner "Swayze" and then they can dance, fight, hair flip, or act their way to a GREAT paper!
Like I always say, "Nobody puts my writing in the corner!"
I am blogging, too! I feel honord to be in the midst of one who has done well for her country and one who has done well for movie-goers everywhere.
ReplyDeleteTo piggyback off of what Patrick stated earlier, students need to utilize their inner Walt Disney. They need to think, formulate a dream, then work hard to achieve it. With writing, they need to concentrate on the assignment, decide upon a purpose through which they achieve greatness (an A?), and put forth effort to obtain their goal whether it be intrinsic or extrinsic.
I think a lack of intrinsic motivation is part of the key.
